THE SUN.

太阳

THE Sun signifies the Monarch as head of the nation, whether Emperor, Empress, King or Queen, whichever reigns ; and it stands for the President in a Republic. It indicates the person who is at the head of any undertaking, whether on a large or small scale, people of Power and Authority, Superiors; also Royalty in general, and the Government.

太阳象征着作为国家元首的君主，无论是皇帝、皇后、国王还是女王，无论其统治者是谁；在共和国中，它也代表总统。它象征着任何事业的领导者，无论规模大小，也象征着拥有权力和权威的人、上级；此外，它也象征着王室成员和政府。

The Sun in the First House.—Prospers the nation, the Monarch, and the Government; the health of the community is good; some sort of national success or advantage accrues under this influence. If seriously afflicted, the benefit will be less; but the Sun is so strong in this position that it can overcome almost any affliction ; nevertheless the bad aspect will operate according to its nature.

The Sun in the Second House.—The earning power of the nation is good; trade and money matters generally will advance ; but there is a likelihood of national expenditure and outgoings increasing also, especially if the Sun is much afflicted, when taxation may become heavier or some big failure occur.

The Sun in the Third House.—This benefits railways, the post-office, and education; improved business or some advance may take place in one or other of these directions. The King, Royalty, or prominent people may travel a good deal or undertake activities connected with this house. If seriously afflicted, a railway accident may occur or trouble arise through the house.

The Sun in the Fourth House.— Favourable for owners of land and for occupations connected with it, and for building operations. Good for mines and the crops, but some likelihood of deficiency of rainfall.’ This position may increase the power of the people, the democracy, or lessen that of the Government, the Monarch, the wealthy, etc.; or some legislative or other movement may take place advantageous to the people. If seriously afflicted, may be very unfortunate for the Government ; loss of bye-elections ; and the other matters ruled by this house will then suffer.

The Sun in the Fifth House.—Fortunate for theatres, schools, and all matters governed by this house, also for the Monarch, Royalty, and the upper classes; society is busy; pleasures and amusements increase ; a pleasant and prosperous period. If seriously afflicted, the affairs ruled by the house suffer; some sorrow or trouble afflicts the Monarch or the upper classes ; theatres and amusements do not prosper; some scandal connected with women or children may arise.

The Sun in the Sixth House.—A good business influence ; the internal business and work of the country benefit, and so do all servants, employees at factories, etc., and workers in employment under superiors. The army and navy prosper. Fortunate movements take place in one or more of these directions. The health of the country is good. If seriously afflicted, all these indications may be reversed; strikes are liable to take place, there is discontent between master and man, business and the national services are troubled, the Monarch and Government as well as employers have cause to be anxious, illness is prevalent according to the sign and the planet afflicting.

The Sun in the Seventh House.—If well aspected, or fairly free from affliction, this is a harmonious influence, promoting friendliness and good feeling between the various classes at home and between this country and others abroad. The Monarch or Government and the people are well disposed towards each other, but it increases the power of the people rather more than that of their rulers. If well aspected, a treaty may be made, royal or other visits between the countries take place, and also marriages among notable people. If seriousny afflicted, there is an unsettled time both at home and abroad, troublesome questions cause contention, the Monarch or Government may incur enmity or criticism, may take some false step or lose ground.

The Sun in the Eighth House.—If well aspected or strong by sign, the health of the country is good, and the exchequer gains through taxation on imports and the death duties. If at all weak or afflicted, there will be sickness or deaths amongst Royalty or the upper classes. The Government may suffer through party splits or loss of support, or one of their members may die.

The Sun in the Ninth House.—Benefit to religion and the churches, to law, to universities, and to prominent persons connected with these. Shipping and foreign trade prosper It also strengthens the Monarch and Government. The King or some Royal personage may visit foreign countries. If seriously afflicted trouble may come through this house, religious dissensions, shipping disasters, etc.; but the Sun is strong and fortunate here.

The Sun in the Tenth House.—The Monarch and the Government are prosperous and popular; the country is fortunate. If seriously afflicted, there may be trouble according to the planet afflicting and the house in which it is placed; if it rules the eighth or is afflicted by the lord of the eighth, possibly a death among Royalty ; if by the lord of the second, loss connected with revenue or taxation; and soon. But in any case the Sun is very strong here and gives strength to the things it rules.

The Sun in the Eleventh House.—Benefits the Government and Parliament ; promotes the passage of legislation; important measures may be introduced or passed. Honours may be conferred by the Monarch. The Government and the people are stronger than the Monarch. The country benefits through friendly nations abroad. With serious affliction, the work of Parliament may be hindered and disorganised, measures may fail, there may be changes in the Cabinet, a member may die, the Upper and Lower Houses may disagree, or the Monarch may disapprove of the course of legislation.

The Sun in the Twelfth House.—Unless wellaspected weakens the Government and may bring hindrance or loss to them, and trouble or sorrow to the Monarch. If seriously afflicted, this is intensified; and trouble may fall upon hospitals, prisons, workhouses, and the officials or management connected with them. But if well supported by benefics, these institutions and charitable movements may benefit through reforms or through increased attention and assistance, the patronage of Royalty, honours conferred upon officials, medical men, etc.

ASPECTS.

The Sun in Conjunction with the Moon.—The exact conjunction of Sun and Moon constitutes New Moon;  it is a very important position in a mundane map, and indicates that changes and developments will take place in matters signified by the house in which the conjunction falls, the power and life of the Sun and the activity of the Moon being both turned in this direction, giving strength and importance to the house, so that events governed by it will come to the front.

太阳与月亮合相——太阳与月亮精准合相构成新月；这是世俗星盘中非常重要的位置，预示着合相所在宫位所代表的事物将会发生变化和发展。太阳的力量和生命力以及月亮的活动都转向这一方向，赋予该宫位力量和重要性，从而使受其支配的事件凸显出来。

The Sun in good aspect with the Moon.—Fortunate for the Monarch and Government as well as the people ; harmonious relations between the upper and lower classes, the rulers and the ruled, employers and employed ; promotes national prosperity both abroad and at home.

The Sun in bad aspect with the Moon.—The exact opposition of the two Luminaries marks Full Moon. In a mundane map any close bad aspect may introduce difficulties or some unpopularity into the path of the Monarch or Government, and strikes or discontent on the part of the workers may occur, some inharmony between the people and their rulers or the Commons and the Lords. Not good for the health of the nation, but does not do much harm unless supported by other indications.

The Sun in Conjunction or Parallel with Mercury.— If close, promotes all intellectual, scientific, and literary activities, and persons who carry them on receive attention or honour. Education and legislation benefit ; Bills make headway in Parliament; is favourable for speechmaking by prominent statesmen or the Monarch, especially if angular.

Fortunate for the Monarch or Government.

The Sun in bad aspect with Venus.—The semisquare is the only bad aspect ever formed. It is not important unless supported by other indications, when it may tend to reverse the indications in the preceding paragraph.

The Sun in Conjunction or bad aspect with Mars.— Disputes, quarrels, and disagreements either at home or with other countries, and especially affecting the house occupied by Mars; a warlike feeling is aroused, waves of excitement are felt, party differences are widened; the Monarch, the Government or the upper classes feel the effects of hostility and opposition directed towards them ; deaths may occur in these circles; in turbulent countries and if other indication concur, crime may be directed towards the Monarch or prominent person ; trouble affecting army or navy, deaths therein, especially of officers. The conjunction is very martial but is not wholly evil, and in war may bring military success. Some Royal personage may die.

The Sun in good aspect with Mars.—Gives power and success to the Monarch and Government as well as to the army and navy, military movements, warlike operations, and all occupations of the nature of Mars; promotes beneficial reforms in connection with these; favours the health of the country at home and its success abroad.

The Sun in conjunction or good aspect with Jupiter. —Good for peace and prosperity at home and abroad; trade improves, commerce increases, and the Monarch and Government are fortunate. The churches benefit and orthodox religious movements; dignitaries connected with them, or persons following occupations under Jupiter, prosper or receive honour. Good for social, charitable, and philanthropic movements and institutions.

The Sun in bad aspect with Jupiter —Disturbs trade and commerce; brings confusion into religious questions and the churches; the Law Courts are full; the health of the nation is liable to suffer. Scandal, trouble, or crime threatens society, the upper classes, the Government, or the Monarch; death may be active in one of these directions. Mysterious crimes occur.

The Sun tn good aspect with Saturn.—Gives power to the Monarch and Government but not necessarily popularity ; they hold their own against opponents either by weight of numbers or by prudence, tact, and diplomacy. Fortunate for state or municipal officials and for reforms connected with these. Mining, building, and occupations ruled by Saturn prosper, and workers and labour generally.
